Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you provide?
The Traffic Planner provides traffic management solutions for construction sites, private and public construction projects and special events. We plan and design:
  • Traffic Control Plans
  • Traffic Management Plans

What is a Traffic Management Plan?
A Traffic Management Plan (TMP) assesses traffic impact associated with development construction on the local road network. It is also a requirement for Special Events or Full Road Closures. The TMP must adhere to the Local Council Standard Requirements and may include many Traffic Control Plans (TCP).

What is a Construction Traffic Management Plan?
A CTMP will be tailored towards a specific construction project or developments required to meet certain Council conditions in order to lodge a DA Application, obtain a DA Consent or DA Approval from the Local Council.

What is a Traffic Control Plan?
A Standard Traffic Control Plan details the location of the work and the proposed Traffic Management to maintain safe movement of pedestrian and vehicular traffic through and around a work site. A TCP is required for any jobs affecting the road, footpath or public spaces. The work can be as simple as a footpath closure to install a new driveway, or as complicated as closing a major road within the CBD or on a Highway.

All TCP/TMPs must be prepared by a person holding a current “NSW Roads and Maritime Services Prepare a Traffic Workzone Management Plan” licence. The Traffic Planner holds these licences, along with the experience necessary to take care of it for you.

Do I need to obtain council approval/s for works on public space?
Yes, you do. In addition to Local Council approval, emergency services, Police and public transport operators in the area may also need to be notified.

When submitting a TCP/TMP to the council are there any fees applicable?
Yes, there are. Fees can vary from each Local Government Area (council) and may be applicable each time you apply.

The Traffic Planner is here to provide a smooth transition for your project from the moment we finalise your order to the completion of your project. We’ll give you job-specific advice to ensure your project is delivered on time, and on budget.
